Sergio Krakowski
Brazilian Pandeiro
Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1979, Krakowski has been dedicating his life to the Pandeiro. A complete “hand drum kit”, this instrument has always been considered a symbol of Brazilian music and culture. Crossing whatever national and cultural barriers, he made the pandeiro a possible tool for various musical genres, from the choro to jazz, contemporary and electronic music.
In a career span of over twenty years Sergio Krakowski has shared the stage with stars such as Brazilian singer Maria Bethânia, Cuban virtuoso pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Benin born guitarist Lionel Loueke, American jazz pianist Kevin Hays, clarinetista Anat Cohen, Colombian super harpist Edmar Castañeda, harmonica player Gregoire Maret, Brazilian singers/songwriters Lenine and Chico César, Spanish pianist Chano Domínguez, an eclectic list of first rate musicians and artists.
